UPDATED 29th May 2021
This week, in light of a few things, we have had to think long and hard about how the Holly Bush Prize Private View and Prize-Giving will work this year. There are challenges facing us with logistics at Burgh House and event numbers. Also, the Covid statistics show hospital admissions up 25% this week and infections up 24%. It is not a good trend and restrictions are unlikely to be lifted on 21st June. All of these factors have led us to decide, with a heavy heart, that the prize giving will be online again this year.
However, there is some good news to go with this disappointing news - we have decided to move our ‘home’ to Lauderdale House in Highgate London N6 5HG. The venue is just as beautiful as Burgh House and has a much bigger gallery, which will not just mean that moving forward we can hang larger paintings which I know will please you all, we can have more finalists and more importantly for those of you that become Finalists this year, you will be able to exhibit your work alongside the 2022 finalists next year. Also in future the exhibitions will be one month long meaning more people see your work.
The updates will be announced on social media over the weekend and I am about to change the Website T and C’s accordingly. If you have any questions please do come back to me but I have bullet pointed what you need to know below.

Continuing our journey to equality

Finalists will be invited to exhibit their work at Lauderdale House, Highgate, London in Summer 2022 (this will be a joint exhibition with 2022 Finalists).
This year's prize also includes The Lady Petchey Sculpture Prize.
Generously sponsored by Dame Emma Thompson, The Tim May Memorial Prize, Frances Segelman, Women in Art Fair, Cass Art Hampstead, Zebra One Gallery Hampstead and The Mall Galleries. The Holly Bush Emerging Woman Painter Prize 2021 is part of a wider project to assist and celebrate women artists and focuses on the careers of emerging female painters.
This prize is aimed at supporting, encouraging and mentoring emerging women painters. Each year 22 artists are chosen from this competition to exhibit in London. From these 22 talented women the first prize is awarded to a painter who has demonstrated exceptional potential to become an established professional artist. New for this year we proudly present The Lady Petchey Sculpture Prize
This exhibition offers a genuine opportunity for emerging women artists to further their career and for art collectors to invest in the future of the art-world’s emerging talent.
